Why we support The Native Woodland Trust

Eoin here from Crann I wanted to share a little about why we decided at Crann to support The Native Woodland Trust and why we feel it's important to give back locally to something that means a lot to the team and our customers.

What we do to help support The Native Woodland Trust by collecting €2 per product sold and donating this in two lump sums each year the first in January and the second in July.

We are planning on running summer events with the CRANN CLAN and The Native Woodland Trust to help volunteer for a day planting/maintaining the sites they own. More to follow on this soon.

Who Are The Native Woodland Trust?

The Native Woodland Trust is dedicated to the preservation of Ireland's remaining ancient woodlands. We are also committed to the restoration of Ireland's original climax ecosystem, through the re-creation of woodlands, using only native seed.

Aims

  1. The protection, preservation, and expansion of Ireland’s existing ancient and semi-natural woodlands.
  2. The creation of new woodlands throughout Ireland, where these would naturally occur.
  3. The restoration of the original flora, fauna, and avi-fauna of Ireland’s woodlands
  4. To increase native woodland bio-diversity through suitable habitat creation and sensitive management.
  5. The preservation of every species and identifiable genotype of Ireland’s native trees.

How can you not love what these guys are doing?

    Why We Do This?

Very simply we want to do a lot more than just use recycled materials in our sunglasses and watches we want to give back to the beautiful green country of ours and there is no better way to do this by supporting companies that feel the same as we do for the environment.
